Ula and Chiew are getting married at Kelham Hall in August so we braved the 33 degree heat to take a walk round this fabulous venue and take a few photographs.
I love covering different types of wedding ceremony and Adele and Dominic’s Viking handfasting betrothal ceremony was wonderfully different. A betrothal ceremony takes place a year and day before the full and final wedding ceremony which is taking place in Avebury next year. While I’ve covered handfasting ceremonies before I’ve never had one with a Raven of light blessing before, making this one extra special. The Raven a direct descendant of the Tower of London birds and related to Game of thrones three eyed Raven was a fabulous bird!
Following the ceremony was a lovely wedding breakfast picnic in the grounds of Darley Park. For the evening everyone moved on to the Stables bar of the Bell inn in Derby city centre. The first dance was a medieval dance that included the full wedding party’s evolvement a real change to the standard couple wedding shuffle.
My annual visit to the Scarborough Tattoo show as part of the Tattooed Wedding Collective, which is comprised of Legend Bridal dress makers, Marry Me Ink wedding Blog, Kokino Hair design and Myself, was extra special this year! The show is so much more than tattooists creating magnificent body art, there were rock bands playing in the Spa Pavilion in the glorious sunshine and all sorts of alternative stalls giving a real carnival atmosphere. We had a fabulous wedding area amongst all the international super talented tattoo artists. Many of our merry tribe had tattoos over the weekend including my lady wife. I took time over the weekend to take our amazing models, replete in Legend Bridal’s exquisite bespoke couture, crowned with Kokino’s lavish avant garde barnetry onto on the Scarborough front, creating quite a stir with the holiday makers, including into the freezing north sea!! Here are a few of my favourite images, there will be more posts from the other members of tribe so keep your eyes peeled.
