Emma and Ben’s Eltham Palace wedding was a wonderful day in the scorching heat.  Temperatures over 30 degrees all day didn’t stop this lovely couple from having a fun packed day.  Mona Ali a friend and fellow wedding photographer helped me out covering Ben and his friends getting ready and through out the day, capturing some great candid moments. Eltham Palace is a brilliant wedding venue, this unique building is steeped in history it brings together Art Deco flourishes and very early Tudor architecture. Emma and Ben had a first dance with a difference performing a very energetic jive on a dance floor dominated by a huge tree!

I’ve taken part in many wedding fairs where you set up your stand and hover while couples wander past looking at the many stalls with a glazed expression.  My trip to the Scarborough Tattoo show with the lovely people of the Tattooed wedding Collective was definitely not that kind of gig! This was a much broader event apart from the obvious plethora of talented tattoo artists there was a battle of the bands competition, taxidermy stands, Tarot readers, jewellery vendors,  and us, a collective of the best alternative wedding suppliers in the business, Legend Bridal designs , Kokino Salon , Marry Me Ink and of course my good self! And of course it seems no convention of any kind is complete without a gang of star wars cosplayers.

Over the two days we were there we spent our time wisely, getting tattoos, frolicking on the beach and taking lots of photographs of the beautiful wedding dresses designed and made by the wonderful Legend Bridal designs.

Here are a few of the photographs to give you a taste of a fab weekend of adventures.

Rachel and Patrick are getting married at Delapre Abbey in September, this historic building is newly restored to it former glory and their wedding will be one of only 3  weddings at the venue for in last 900 years!! We took a stroll round the gardens and a few photographs and chat about their wedding plans for what promises to be a really special occasion.

Anna and Adam’s intimate family wedding was held at Erasmus Darwin’s House in Lichfield. Erasmus was the grandfather of the legendary Charles Darwin! The wet weather didn’t effect this lovely occasion where family and friends enjoyed a wonderfully relaxed day celebrating the marriage of this fabulous couple. Adam, a former wedding photographer himself, knew exactly what he wanted from his wedding photography and gave me the freedom to work in my candid style letting the day unfold naturally.
